Movies that move you

A great movie is not just something you watch, but something you feel and experience.  This is different for every person. And I wanted to share my list.

These are my top 6. Random number I know. And I’m sure if I sit here I can come up with 4 more to make it an even 10, but I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to put the ones I thought of automatically and still give me the “feelings” just thinking about them.

*These are in no particular order.

Titanic

Forrest Gump

The Shawshank Redemption

Gladiator

Cinderella Man

Cast Away

When Harry Met Sally

Did you notice a trend? I love Tom Hanks and Russel Crowe! I think they are amazing actors!! Tom Hanks is by far my favorite actor of all time. When an actor can make you cry over a volleyball, that’s some serious stuff – it’s a ball! But there are you are, just crying over it. I don’t want to say much for those who haven’t watched it. So go and watch Cast Away now.

This next list is more action oriented. Basically when I feel like watching something but don’t know what and don’t want to get too emotional I go to this list. It’s movies I used to watch with my family on the weekend, just to pass the time. And I still do with my husband now.

Die Hard
I like 1 – 3 best. The rest got to be too much for me.

Jurassic Park
All of them. Even Jurassic World. I was surprised at what a good job they did after so many years!

The Terminator
I usually just watch the first one.

The Mummy
I usually stick to the first 3 movies. Not a big fan of the Scorpion King ones.

Now, I must add that I am not into scary movies. I get too scared and then I can’t sleep for days! So you’ll rarely see scary movies on my lists. I barely saw The Shining this year! It was one of those movies I wanted to watch for a while but wouldn’t have the courage to do so. I finally did. Not as bad as I thought, but I do recall screaming for my husband because I was afraid to get up out of bed by myself. Oh – I should add that I tend to watch movies in bed all comfy and when I get scared I think something is going to pop out of underneath my bed. So yea. I had to call him in case I put my feet down and something attacks me!

I recently saw these on Netflix. They are in the documentary section. These I’ve only watched once, but I did think were awesome enough for me to share as well.

Minimalism

Tony Robbins – I am not your Guru

What the Health

What movies have you seen that are so awesome you’ll watch over and over again?  Have you seen any documentaries that make you think and question your life?

Love your first list! Haven’t seen anything on your action or documentary lists. I’m not big into documentaries generally. Some of my favorites to watch over and over are Return to Me, You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping….the list could go on and on! 🙂 I wrote a post a while back about my go-to movies when I need a good cry. I included the link in case you’re interested. 🙂

Omg I love You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. So I’ll check that Return to Me, I’m sure it’ll be good since I already like your taste 😉

I couldn’t find it on Netflix. I don’t have cable so I guess I’ll check Hulu next. I did get the recommendation of watching “Must Love Dogs” when I was searching your movie and now I’m watching that. If you haven’t seen it you should! Def a great movie
